The Circular Economy Programme is a new initiative developed by the RDS in collaboration with Trinity College Dublin to recognise Irish businesses, entrepreneurs and innovators making a positive difference in meeting the climate change challenge.

Circular Economy Programme

The collaboration between the RDS and Trinity College Dublin aim to push circular models into the spotlight and help inspire a new generation of innovation leaders, while growing awareness and support with consumers to buy products created with circular principles. The circular economy provides a key solution for our waste crisis, but it also makes solid economic sense, as we face into a future where we must maximise the resources available to us.

Circular design thinking is the driving force behind some of the most interesting and disruptive new businesses. The Circular Economy Awards are recognising and celebrating the organisations, entrepreneurs, and innovators, making a difference in this space.

The Awards are highlighting the benefits the circular economy can bring to both producers and consumers and showcase the practical examples of the circular economy in action.

The Awards are opened to businesses that demonstrate circular practices. This means products or services that use renewable materials and are designed for durability, reuse, remanufacturing, and recycling to keep products, components, and materials circulating in the economy.

Drawing upon leadership and executive development programmes in Circular Economy, Sustainability and ESG, the Trinity Executive Education team will host and deliver an alumni event, organised for category winners and runners up for the purposes of lifelong development, networking and continued peer-to-peer learning in relation to implementation of circular economy strategies and processes.
