Flying Turtle Productions (Formerly The Abbey School Of Drama) are offering a Public Speaking On ZOOM course running Tuesdays 7:00-9:00pm, February 16th – March 16th, 2021
Sharing your ideas with others can be challenging for some people.
Even those with experience may seek to improve the quality of their content for maximum impact, or to manage nervous tension. Whether it is for a work presentation, a sales pitch, a job interview, a wedding speech, an academic paper or for personal development – our courses will give you the specific tools that you need and a “safe” place to practice them.
The tutor, Kathleen Warner Yeates, has coached top level executives in Google, Microsoft, ECB, and many more, to improve vocal quality, shape content and release excess nervous tension.
In this practical course, students will be given the techniques and opportunity to engage with their audience with confidence and poise, increase vocal resonance, manage nervous tension, and develop dynamic and memorable content. Guidance will be given on the use of notes and visual aids. Additionally, we will cover the specific techniques for On-Camera presentations.
Each week you can expect to prepare and deliver a small presentation on the topic of your choosing. The focus each week will change, so that you have the option to create a new presentation each week, or to develop and refine one presentation. The third class will involve additional one-to-one feedback on content and delivery.
ZOOM access is required for this course:
Based on over a year of us working on creative projects on ZOOM (feature films, new plays, new media, and one-to-one coaching), we have found the MOST creative, interactive, engaging and inspiring way to work in SMALL groups of only 10 maximum for this online course.
There will be constant interaction and group engagement.
You must have a good steady connection to the internet, and a laptop or tablet device with a camera and microphone (smart phone alone will not suffice for this course) in order to participate in this class on ZOOM. It will also be important that you are in a quiet location where you can stand, move around and make noise!
